Support
Pole Lap Logger is a one-person project, and the person who answers support is the one who writes the app. Email is the only channel — there is no ticket queue and no account to sign in to.
The short version.
Write in English or Japanese. Both are read by the same person, so neither one is the slow route. Tell us which device you are on, which iOS version, which circuit, and what happened — that is usually enough to reproduce a problem without a second round of questions.

What to put in the message
Four lines are usually enough to make a problem reproducible:
- Your device — which iPhone or iPad it is.
- Your iOS version — Settings → General → About → Software Version.
- The circuit — its name, and whether it is a built-in layout or one you drew yourself.
- What happened — what you did, what you expected, and what the app did instead.
If the problem is about one particular session, export it and attach the file. A GPX, CSV or NMEA export carries the whole recording, which says more than a description of it can.
Frequently asked
Do I need a GPS receiver?
No. The app records from the phone’s own GPS, and lap timing, sector splits, the racing line and the delta all work the same way. A supported Bluetooth LE receiver reports a position far more often, which draws a finer line and sharpens the sector splits — it makes the numbers better, it is not what makes them work.
Which receivers are supported?
Four models, each spoken to over its own native Bluetooth LE protocol — nothing to configure and no adapter in between. The current list, and how to pair one, is on the supported receivers page.
The circuit I run is not in the list.
Draw it yourself. In the circuit editor you drag the start/finish line across the track on the satellite view and add sector lines wherever the corners suggest. Pit lines are not part of the editor — those arrive already placed on most built-in layouts, so a circuit you draw is start/finish and sectors. Split start and finish lines are supported, so a hillclimb or a point-to-point stage times correctly. A circuit you drew behaves exactly like a built-in one — same lap detection, same sector ranking, same personal circuit best across every session saved on the device. What does Premium change?
Right now, one thing only: how many sessions you can keep on the device. The free version keeps two. Recording, replay, lap comparison, the graphs, the circuit editor and GPX / CSV / NMEA export are not limited in the free version. Today the storage cap is the only thing Premium changes; features added in future updates may be part of Premium.
How do I restore a purchase?
Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in to the same store account you bought with. A purchase belongs to the App Store account that made it: it restores on that account, and it does not transfer between iOS and Android. The lifetime purchase works the same way — it restores on the store you bought it from.
Where is my data?
On your device. There are no accounts and no server of ours holding a copy — sessions, laps and track points live in the app’s own database on the phone. You can write any session out as GPX, CSV or NMEA whenever you like. Uninstalling the app removes that database with it, so export anything you want to keep before you do.
I want to stop sending usage data.
Turn off “Share anonymous usage data” in Settings and it stops immediately. Nothing is sent at all unless you accepted the single question the app asks the first time you open it; if you declined, the analytics component is never started. What the events contain — and what they cannot contain — is set out in the privacy policy.
My laps are not being detected.
Check the circuit first. Recording times against the circuit selected on the home screen, so a session started against the wrong one will never see your line. Then check that the lap actually crossed the line: a lap is counted when the recorded track crosses the line segment, so a line that stops short of the racing line, or that sits on a part of the track you never went over, will not fire. If it is a circuit you drew yourself, open it in the editor and make sure each line spans the full width of the track.
Can I use it on a motorcycle?
Yes. Nothing about a vehicle in the app is specific to four wheels — a vehicle is a name, a weight, a tyre size and a set of ratios — and a tyre written 180/55R17 is measured by the same formula as any other. Recording, lap and sector timing, the racing line, the graphs and the exports all behave exactly the same way.
Gearing is the one thing to set up differently. The rev and gear readout works in two stages, gear ratio then final drive, and there is no separate field for a motorcycle’s primary reduction. Put primary reduction × sprocket ratio (rear ÷ front) into the final drive field: the rev limit lines on the graph and the gear callouts on the map then read correctly.
Known limitations
Timing accuracy. Every figure comes from GPS. Accuracy depends on the receiver, the device and the conditions, and Pole Lap Logger is not an official timing device. Use it on closed courses, keep your eyes on the track, never operate it while driving, and never base a decision that affects your safety on a number it shows.
iOS first, Android to follow. Pole Lap Logger is released on the App Store first, and the Android version follows it. A purchase stays with the store it was made on, so it does not carry across when the other version arrives.
